Is it really a one-time payment?
Yes. Pay once and your copy keeps working, with no subscription and no account with us. Included: Free updates through version 1.x.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to 3 computers that you use. A copy is for one person.
Does each teammate need their own copy?
Yes, each person who runs TEAM8 needs a copy. The board, tickets and roadmap TEAM8 writes into your project are plain files anyone on the project can read.
Who is the seller, and is tax included?
Checkout is run by our store partner as the seller of record. It adds the right sales tax or VAT for your country at checkout and sends your receipt.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 13 days of buying. See the refund policy.
I lost my download link.
It's in your receipt email from the store: search your inbox for "TEAM8". Still stuck? Contact support with the email you bought with.
Which operating systems does it run on?
Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. macOS and Linux versions are being tested and will be free for existing buyers of that edition when they ship.
Do I need a Claude subscription?
Yes. TEAM8 works through Claude Code on your computer, so you need Claude Code signed in with a Claude plan that includes it, or with API billing through the Claude Console. TEAM8 doesn't include or resell Claude usage.
Will TEAM8 use up my Claude limits?
TEAM8 doesn't use Claude by itself. Your chats use your plan exactly as they would in Claude Code. A few buttons (an inbox check, a design review, patch notes) start a chat for you, and Plan & Limits shows where you stand. Token Saver helps your limits go further.
Do I need an API key?
No. TEAM8 uses the sign-in of the Claude Code on your computer, and its Connect Claude step signs you in through Anthropic's own page. TEAM8 never asks for your password.
What else do I need to install?
Node.js (the free LTS version) for the team tools that run inside Claude chats, and git for co-op in Gaming and Build. RTK for Token Saver is optional, and TEAM8 can install it for you. TEAM8 checks and tells you what's missing.
What does TEAM8 change in my project?
It adds a team/ folder (board, roles, tickets, roadmap, research) and a Team section in CLAUDE.md. Nothing that's already there is overwritten.
Can I use it without the app?
Yes. TEAM8 includes a plugin for Claude Code, so the same /team8 commands and team tools work in the terminal, your editor or the Claude desktop app. The app adds the dashboard, charts and everything else on these pages.
Why does a chat say a tool was refused?
Chats started from TEAM8 run in the background and can't stop to ask for permission, so each chat has a permission mode. Anything the mode doesn't allow is refused and shown in the chat; pick a more permissive mode for that chat if you trust the task.
Windows says "Windows protected your PC".
That appears for apps that aren't widely installed yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
Can I have a normal window instead of the shaped one?
Yes: Settings, Appearance, Window shape, Standard, then restart TEAM8.
Which edition is for me?
Games: Gaming. Apps, websites with code, APIs and other software: Build. Businesses, launches, events, reports and communities: Basic. Compare them.
Can I have more than one edition?
Yes. Each is its own purchase and installs separately with its own settings, so they run side by side.
Which engines does Gaming support?
66 engines and toolchains, including Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, GameMaker, Defold, Bevy, MonoGame, Ren'Py, Roblox, Phaser and Three.js. Anything else works as a Custom project. See the full list.
Which stacks does Build support?
Next.js, React, Vue or Svelte with Vite, Node.js APIs, React Native and Expo, Electron and Tauri, Django and Python, Go, Rust, Java and Kotlin, Android, Swift, Flutter, .NET, Rails, Laravel, C and C++, and monorepos. Anything else works as Other stack.
What is the Site Builder in Build?
A page where Claude builds and edits a website in your project while you watch it live: click anything to change it, try themes without spending tokens, run accessibility and search checks, get a design review from screenshots, and undo any change.
What does Scout, the social researcher in Basic, actually do?
It is a Claude chat with web search turned on and everything else turned off. You send it out; it reads the platforms' own pages, the press and what people in your subject are posting, and writes a dated note into your project with a link beside every claim. It also writes the posts and finds the hashtags people really use. It never invents a number — no made-up reach, follower counts or hashtag volumes — and anything it could not check is written down as a guess. TEAM8 holds no social accounts: you approve a post, copy it and publish it yourself.
How does Communications in Basic reach my email?
Through the connectors in your Claude account, such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Microsoft 365 and Slack. You connect them in Claude; TEAM8 never sees your password. Checks can only read, drafts wait for your approval, and a message is sent only when you press Send on it.
Do all editions have the same license terms?
Yes: pay once, use it on up to 3 of your computers, 13 days to ask for a refund, and Free updates through version 1.x.
What is Token Saver?
A TEAM8 feature that runs the commands your chats use (git, tests, builds, searches, logs) through RTK, a free open-source tool that trims their output before Claude reads it. RTK reports 60 to 90% less output on common development commands.
Does it change what Claude can do?
No. Commands run the same way; Claude just reads a shorter result that keeps errors, failures and changed lines. You can turn Token Saver off in Settings at any time.
Where do I see the savings?
Token Usage shows the tokens saved in each session, today, per project and all time, which commands save the most, and roughly what that's worth. Plan & Limits shows this week's savings.
Is RTK made by TEAM8?
No. RTK is an independent open-source project (Apache-2.0). TEAM8 finds it on your computer or installs it with its official command, and adds it to TEAM8's own chats. It runs locally.
Does TEAM8 collect my data?
No. There's no account with us and the app sends us nothing. Settings, chat history and logs stay on your computer. Details are in the privacy policy.
Where do my chats go?
To Anthropic, through your own Claude Code, under your Claude plan's terms. TEAM8 is not in the middle.
Where does my email summary go?
Communications' summary of your inbox stays on your computer, not in the project folder. Drafts are saved in the project so your reviewer can check them.
Is TEAM8 made by Anthropic?
No. TEAM8 is an independent app by Mahan & Yucky that works with Claude Code. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic.
